Sarfraz Shah case: Police officer testifies in ATC

KARACHI: Two more witnesses testified in the Sarfraz Shah case at the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi on Tuesday.

Sub-inspector (SI) Zulfiqar told the court the he had received Sarfaraz Shah’s body with two bullet wounds, one in the left hand and the other in the right thigh.

He also said that evidence handed over by a Station House Office (SHO) included a pistol, three bullets, one spent bullet shell, a purse and a mobile phone.

Zulfiqar said the SHO had directed him to register a First Information Report (FIR) with the Rangers personnel as complainants.

The Rangers personnel also requested the court provide them with a copy of the Joint Investigation Report. The court reserved its decision in this regard till tomorrow.

The hearing has been adjourned till tomorrow.

Earlier, two out of six Rangers men accused of killing Sarfraz Shah were identified by a police officer and the victim’s brother in court as the first prosecution witnesses had taken the stand in the high-profile case.

Nineteen-year-old Sarfraz Shah was shot by Rangers in the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Park on June 8. The incident was caught on videotape and broadcast on television channels nationwide.

SK | 13 years ago | Reply If any high up really wants nation's confidence restored on law enforcement agencies (or any semblance of it) then all six rangers and that other civilian MUST be hanged specifically for their brutality and complete ignorance of any law of the land- this will also send message to every man in forces that people are not their slaves but masters and they are not there to rule citizens with impunity but to serve them and protect them
