LONDON:
With reference to Javed Chaudhry’s article of June 10, it should be obvious why democracy keeps failing again and again. It is because the system used to elect members of parliament is flawed – and that is because the manner in which votes from the rural areas are more or less purchased by the local wadera or feudal. Till we improve our system of electing people to parliament, this deficiency will remain.

This is unfortunate but if a credible + mutually respectable personality like Abdus Sattar Edhi would ever contest against any of those feudals, he would be surely assassinated.
