State of education

Atmosphere in educational institutions does not promote a proper education

TURBAT: Balochistan is the largest provinces of Pakistan comprising over 47 per cent of the land mass of the country. Even though the province is rich in natural resources, it remains neglected.

The resources within Balochistan are not being used by their own people and are instead either exported or sold within the country. However, in my opinion, one of the main effects it has is on education. Due to lack of funds there are few educational institutions in the province.

The literacy rate is a mere 47 per cent. Even though 1.3 million out of 3.6 million children go to school, most schools are in a pathetic condition. Most schools do not have clean drinking water, electricity and an adequate number of teachers.

Textbooks are not being provided on time. Due to lack of libraries, students are deprived of varied readings. The atmosphere in educational institutions does not promote a proper education. I demand of the government to provide the people of the province with basic facilities.
