RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi District Accountant Office has discovered widespread discrepancies in the computerised national identity card (CNIC) numbers submitted by district education authority teachers for their salary lists.

As a result, the accountant office has written to the chief executive officer of the District Education Authority (DHA).

In the letter, the Rawalpindi accountant has told the DHA to fix all CNIC number errors in the list by August 10.

After the deadline, the accountants warned that any teacher whose CNIC numbers have not been corrected in the list, their salaries will be withheld.

The district account officer said that they have twice before issued advisories to the DHA to fix errors in the list.
