Federal Basketball Association holds tree planation drive
It was the responsibility of every person to participation in the tree plantation campaign
ISLAMABAD:
Federal Basketball Association held a monsoon tree plantation drive at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad.
The event was held in connection with the Prime Minister Monsoon plantation campaign on “Plant for Pakistan” day, the event jointly organised by the Pakistan Sports Board and First Step Communications.
Speaking on the occasion Pakistan Sports Board Deputy Director General Mansoor Ahmed Khan said that tree plantation was vital in terms of protecting the environment, as well as, promoting afforestation. Moreover, it was the responsibility of every person to participation in the tree plantation campaign and to plant a tree to promote the green and clean environment.
He lauded the efforts of federal basketball association and hoped that every sportsperson would play their role to plant saplings and engage others to achieve this challenging of promoting a cleaner environment
The federal government has set a target of planting 140 million saplings across the country during a campaign which will be inaugurated by the prime minister in the first week of August.
