He further added as a message to police officials that illegally detaining citizens would not be tolerated.
The only message that should be conveyed from the police station for both police officers and the public is that the law is the only true authority.
He expressed these views while inspecting the City and Morgah police stations. The CPO added that police stations are the basic units of the police department.
It is in police stations that the monitoring process goes on and enforcement of the law is completed.
The CPO said that as per the Punjab chief minister’s vision and the IGP's directions, we have to make every police station in Rawalpindi a peaceful home for law-abiding citizens and a place of accountability for criminal elements.
This can only be possible if the police stations are operated upon the merit which is required by the law.

He further mentioned that the police station staff should keep in mind that they are expected to abide by the rule of law as well, and if they fail to do so, then they will be answerable to higher authorities.
He reminded them that they are not exempt from punishment, and would be dealt in accordance with departmental rules and regulations if they engaged in any kind of misconduct or illegal activities.
Moreover, the CPO said that illegal detention of any type is unbearable in police stations.
‘I will pay surprise visits to police stations personally and if anyone is found to be illegally detained in any of the stations, cases will be registered against the SHOs of those stations,’ he warned.
The CPO said we must make the security of police station so foolproof that no miscreant, anti-nation, anti-state elements could even imagine attacking it.
The CPO said that every police station should be a model police station, and all police officers and employees should be role models in regards to law-abidance.
The CPO also checked police records, cleanliness, and lockups.
Animal Hides
The CPO said that only people who have permission from the deputy commissioner (DC) would be allowed to collect animal hides.
Moreover he added that people who were forbidden from collecting animal skin last year will have cases registered against them if they try to collect hides this year.
The CPO added that the SOPs by the home department will be implemented completely.
If it is observed in the area of any police station that any banned outfit is collecting animal skins or any organisation is collecting hides without the DC’s permission, the SHO of that police station will be questioned.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of police officers, in which Saddar SP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, Potohar SP Syed Ali, Rawal SP Akram Khan Niazi, and other officers participated.
Police break into expat’s home without warrant, harass family
The CPO highlighted that no organization that was previously banned by the home department can collect animal skin.
The law does not permit personnel who are included in the fourth schedule to leave their residence without informing the police.
The CPO said that only those organisations and welfare institutions will be allowed to collect animal skins that have a permission certificate issued by the deputy commissioner.
Furthermore, he said that special teams of police will be formed to ensure that no banned organisation is collecting animal skin.
These teams will also be monitoring to make sure that no one is collecting hides without permission.
SPs in their divisions and SDPOs in their respective circles should monitor their areas and make sure no one breaks the law in this regard.
