LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday asked the petitioner to file a rejoinder to the law officer’s reply in a case seeking regularisation of 190 employees of the Health Department. The court also sought a reply from the health secretary in two weeks. Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed issued the order on a petition filed by Nauman Ahmad, a Health Department employee. The petitioner said that Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif had issued a notice to the department directing it to regularise all contract employees, but the department had regularised only 26 employees. A law officer representing the department told the court that the said 190 employees were appointed on contract basis under different programmes and could not be regularised.
