Mianwali to get 200-bed mother and child hospital

The revised cost of facility is estimated to be Rs4.216 billion

LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved development schemes worth Rs4.782 billion, including a 200-bed mother and child hospital and nursing college in Mianwali district.

The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) gave the green signal to the Primary and Secondary Healthcare sector’s development schemes during the part’s fifth meeting for the current fiscal year on Tuesday.

The revised cost of facility is estimated to be Rs4.216 billion. The Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) has already floated tenders for hiring contractors and consultants for the construction of the facility. The hospital will be constructed over 300 kanals.

The provincial government has planned to establish five public hospitals in Attock, Bahawalnagar, Mianwali, Layyah and Rajanpur districts.
