Climate change

The problem has been affecting many countries, including Pakistan

TURBAT: At present, the world faces a grave problem. We have now entered an epoch where human actions have a direct impact on the geological conditions of the world. This has given rise to the problem of global warming. Now we are in the midst of it.

The problem has been affecting many countries, including Pakistan. With the passage of time, its effects will only worsen. Climate change has significant implications on health. Rising temperatures have led to an increase in air pollution, a longer and more intense allergy season, the spread of insect-borne diseases, more frequent and dangerous heatwaves and rainstorms and flooding increasing in intensity. Heatwaves have killed several thousands in Karachi in recent years. There have been many floods all across Pakistan because of which millions of people have been affected and displaced. The present situation of Karachi is very critical. According to weather officials, dangerous clouds have entered from Gujarat into Sindh. Over the past two days heavy rains have killed more than 16 people. Residents of Karachi have been experiencing tough conditions over the past many years. However, the government is not taking measures to alleviate heir sufferings. A separate government body should be dedicated to this specific purpose. We need to build a vision on how to fight this disaster in the coming years. We need to make Pakistan green again.
