Deforestation

Letter July 27, 2019
If deforestation is not checked, it may lead to the complete destruction of the environment

TURBAT, BALOCHISTAN: I would like to draw the attention of the government toward the issue of deforestation. The issue has been increasing the greenhouse effect. Trees act as the lungs of the world. They take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. Unfortunately, due to the cutting down of trees and burning of firewood, carbon dioxide and other harmful gases are allowed to rise up into the atmosphere. There are fewer trees now left to filter out the air. It is adding to air and water pollution in turn endangering human health. Animal and plant life are also at risk.

If deforestation is not checked, it may lead to the complete destruction of the environment. Apart from this, many species are already on the verge of extinction. We should immediately stop cutting down forests and hunting animals if we are to make a positive change.

Furthermore, factory owners should install waste treatment plants for their waste materials to keep the environment toxic free. Toxic substances from these factories have adverse effects on the environment. I urge the government to raise awareness through constant campaigning about the harmful impact of deforestation and encourage people to act accordingly.
