KARACHI:

Our music industry’s blue-eyed boy has done it again! It is nothing related to Jhoom, his latest album, nor its songs and videos. It’s all about Ali Zafar being in the headlines and creating ripples not only on the Indian shores but on his country’s soil too.

The multi-faceted singing personality is also a painter, model and an actor. Zafar’s song “Dekha” from his album Masty was part of the soundtrack of American film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps which was released on September 24, 2010. He is the fourth Pakistani artist after Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Strings and Atif Aslam to have his song featured in an American film.

Zafar, who made his film debut in Indian director Abhishek Sharma’s comedy film Tere Bin Laden, is in the news these days for many a good reason, across the border. Just one step, as far as Tere Bin Laden is concerned, earned the singer-turned-actor great accolades everywhere, especially in Bollywood.

Recently, the chocolate boy won the top slot as the Hottest New Face in an online poll conducted by the Times of India. Zafar is followed by Ranveer Singh of Band Baaja Baaraat. The poll on the Indian publication’s website is known to be a transparent and fair voting mechanism.

When the celeb wins laurels, he thinks it is better to appeal to the masses and has a charitable purpose in mind. Ali Zafar has plans to give back to society. He intends to promote his cause for charity by teaching music to lesser-privileged children. Apparently, the Pakistani prince of pop is in talks with various non-profit organisations.

According to a source close to the singing sensation, “Ali was contemplating quite a few options but finally decided on sharing his knowledge on music with the lesser privileged as he wants to put his talent to good use and looks like he’s found the right way.”

When The Express Tribune asked Ali Zafar about his charitable plans and music lessons for under-privileged children, he emphatically asserted:  “Music is something that comes naturally to me and I consider it to be the purest thing I can impart at the moment.”  WITH ADDITIONAL INPUT FROM DNA

this is unbelieveable. it only cements the fact that these polls are rigged and bogus.they are nothing but a means of generating some publicity, whereas the claims are hollow. who in their right mind would believe that anyone other than ranveer singh (who factually picked up every laurel this year) of band baja baarat would be the hottest face of the year?? and the other contenders? do they even have a face we would want to look at?Recommend

I think there will be many jealous people mainly Pakistanis that are cringing with jealousy at Ali’s bombastic leap to stardom in the Indo-Continent.
He has proven he is not a one hit wonder and has risen to the occasion to support his fellow stars in the industry. What is interesting is that being a Pakistani his talents are being discovered and use by India, while we in Pakistan are involved in petty jealousies and have ignored his acting talent.
I think Ali Zafar will be the shining light that leads our talented actors & musicians into the world stage and Inshallah lead Pakistan out of the darkness that has encompassed us.Recommend

Bushra! Give it a break. Why we Pakistanis will be jealous of our singer’s success? His music was famous before he went to India and his acting skills were known to us considering he acted in many dramas.Sadly we don’t have an established film industry to explore him more and there India comes.
