Cases will be filed against illegal housing societies
RAWALPINDI:
Head office of an illegal housing society was demolished and site offices of four others were sealed on day-one of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) grand operation against illegal housing societies.
RDA teams, with help of Rawalpindi police, carried out an operation against illegal housing societies in Wah Cant area.
The operation would continue till last week of August, said RDA Chairman Arif Abbasi. He said all efforts would be made to make the operation a success and strict action in accordance with the law would be taken against the violators pf rules without any discrimination.
Abbasi said gates, illegal offices and other construction would be demolished during the operation and cases would also be registered against the promoters of the illegal housing societies.
RDA’s Metropolitan and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) directorate officers and staff took part in the operation with the backing of police station concerned. MP&TE director said that cases will be filed against illegal housing societies. He said that people have been repeatedly warned against investing in illegal housing societies.
