KARACHI:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) MPAs Arsalan Taj and Rabia Azfar approached the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and submitted pleas seeking the disqualification of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Faryal Talpur from the membership of the provincial assembly on Wednesday.

The PTI MPAs requested the ECP to disqualify Talpur for not disclosing her properties in her nomination papers. Talpur had not declared her three residences, one in Larkana and two in Shahdadkot, during the filing of nomination papers to the ECP, said Taj.

Speaking to the media, Taj said he had submitted a resolution against Talpur with Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani on June 22, but no action has been taken over the matter even after a month. Taj had submitted a reference to the speaker, stating Talpur had not declared her three properties in her nomination papers and requested him to take action against the lawmaker under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution of Pakistan.

He also said that if anyone wanted to conduct an inquiry against them, they are allowed to do so, adding that, "ECP should take notice of PPP using political influence in Ghokti election."  "We will also submit a plea against Munawar Talpur soon," he said.

Talpur is currently in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) custody over her alleged involvement in the fake bank accounts case.
