Android to roll out updated features for Bluetooth headsets

The new update will be compatible with Find My Device

Google is rolling out features to ease your frustration over not knowing when your Bluetooth earbuds will run out of battery.

According to Android’s developer's blog, these features will give you information on your Fast Pair Bluetooth device’s battery life and compatibility with Find My Device.

Users will be able to view battery percentages for separate devices, which means that for True Wireless Stereo headphones, for example, they can view each earbud’s battery life and the case’s battery life separately. Notifications will also be sent out to users whenever their device reaches a particular battery percentage.



Those with Fast Pair will be able to see the time and location of the last time their device was used through Find My Device. They also have the option of making their devices give out a sound to make them easily discoverable.



A device details page will give access to these features.

Though Apple’s Airpods have similar features of individual battery life and a search sound, this is the first time non-Apple devices will also be equipped with them.
