JHANG:
Several trees were uprooted due to a violent storm and downpour in several districts on Sunday.
Four people died in Faisalabad after the roofs of their houses collapsed. Several others were injured after a number of vehicles collided when drivers lost control of their cars during the storm.
In Daud Nagar Mohalla Rasool Park a woman and her five-year-old son died after the roof of their house caved in and in Ghaziabad a woman and her son were severely injured.
The downpour caused severe problems for people in Jhang, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Samundri and Faisalabad as traffic remained suspended after sign boards fell in several districts.
District authorities are assessing the damage and redirecting traffic along alternate routes in several cities in this regard.
