Police sources said that an operation to remove encroachment was under way in Lakhwal area in the remits of Bani Gala police station. When the CDA enforcement wing official came to demolish a marquee of a marriage hall, dozens of local people attacked them. Sources said that the marriage hall was property of PTI leader Jameel Abbasi. However, it could not be confirmed. CDA officials had come with police backup for security.
