Crime: Robber shot, injured in encounter

A robber was arrested while his accomplice managed to escape during an encounter with the police in Tarnol area.

A robber was arrested while his accomplice managed to escape during an encounter with the police in Tarnol area on Saturday.


According to the police, Sub-inspector Munir and a head constable were on routine patrolling when they were stopped by two men riding on a motorcycle in Sector I-14.

On realising that they were police officials, the two men opened fire at them. The police fired back in defence, injuring one of the robbers.

The police arrested the injured man, identified as Qaiser Mahmood, and admitted him to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.

According to preliminary investigation, the suspected robber was involved in car theft cases.
