Taapsee Pannu takes a dig at 'Kabir Singh'

She reacted by mentioning a Nagpur murder case in which a woman gets murdered brutally by her alleged boyfriend

Seems like hit film Kabir Singh just can't get away from controversy, with a fleet of celebrities criticising the director Sandeep Vanga Reddy.

Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu is the latest star to take a dig at the misogyny of the Shahid Kapoor blockbuster and the director while reacting to an Indian murder case in Nagpur murder which a woman gets brutally killed by her alleged boyfriend, reported Times of India.

Quoting the news, Taapsee took to Twitter to write, “Or maybe let’s just say they were madly in love with each other n this ‘act’ was to validate his TRUE love for her.”

Indian media reported that a 19-year-old aspiring model was allegedly killed by her boyfriend on suspicion of her 'character', as per the police; the accused has been arrested.

But as soon as the actor tweeted,  the post netizens started criticising her. Most of them questioned Taapsee the reason behind choosing a piece of heinous news for a sarcastic tweet.

Replying to them, Taapsee wrote, “Statutory warning: people with no sense of sarcasm kindly ignore me n my tweet. Thank you, it was nice not knowing you.” However, it did little to abate the storm of negative tweets.

Taapsee appeared to be referring to Reddy defending the slapping scene in Kabir Singh. This comes after the filmmakers controversial remarks during an interview, claiming that when two people are deeply in love and connected to each other - they have the liberty of slapping one another.

Needless to say, the director was bashed for his comments on social media.  He has now asserted that he was misquoted.
