QUETTA: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has declared that the opposition parties do not have the capability to remove Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani from his post and their efforts for the purpose will prove futile.

Buzdar said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supports Sanjrani and will continue backing him.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, the Punjab CM said Sanjrani had the support of the majority in the house. He said the opposition parties whose politics was based on chaos and anarchy were working on the agenda to de-seat the Senate chairman for their vested interests.

"Sanjrani, who belongs to Balochistan, has always done justice to his post and performed his duties fairly," he said.

The CM maintained that it was the responsibility of the state to provide education, health and clean drinking water facilities to the people and PTI government was making all-out efforts for the purpose.

Buzdar observed that tough time was about to pass and Pakistan was moving forward towards it destination swiftly.

Federal Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal also maintained that no-trust motion against Sanjrani will not succeed as people have completely rejected the manifesto of opposition.

The federal minister expressed these thoughts, while talking to a delegation of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) led by party central vice president Mir Abdul Rauf Rind.

The delegation had a detailed discussion about the ongoing issues including no-trust motion against Senate chairman.

Zubaida noted that opposition parties were using the movement as a tool to escape the corruption charges.

“Sadiq Sanjrani presided the Senate with dignity and without any bias,” she said.

“These parties were rejected by the people in general elections. These are merely pressure tactics to undermine ongoing investigations against corrupt individuals as they will fail,” she commented.

She further noted that the federal government was taking special measures to resolve Balochistan's issues.

“Soon mega projects will formally be initiated which will bring prosperity in the province,” she said.

BAP chief said he held the previous governments responsible for the current problems of Balochistan.

He reiterated that BAP will foil any attempt to de-seat Sanjrani.
