Capital Punishment: Man, nephew sentenced to death
FAISALABAD:
Additional Session Judge Suleman Baig has sentenced a man and his nephew with capital punishment in a double murder case. According to the prosecution, eight months ago Chiniot resident Rehmat Ali alias Rehma, his nephew Ghulam Sarwar, his father Falak Sher, Riaz Husain, Dildar and Umar Hayat broke into the house of their rival in Sahianwala and fired upon the family, killing two women Sumera Bibi and Sarwat Bibi. The court sentenced Rehmat Ali and Ghulam Sarwar with the death penalty under section 302-B of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).The convicts were also ordered to pay Rs50,000 each as compensation to the heirs of the deceased or undergo additional imprisonment for six months. The court excused four accused in the case on benefit of doubt.
