Police Torture: DPO suspends 5 officials

The women said that the cops had filed a false FIR against their innocent relatives.

KHANEWAL: The District Police Officer (DPO) suspended five police officials, including a station house officer (SHO) for torturing protesting women near Katchery Road. According to the police, the accused police officials, including City Police SHO Waseem Ahmad Laghari and constables Ameen, Nusrullah, Bilal and Mohsin tortured a group of protesting women with sticks for demonstrating against the police. The women said that the cops had filed a false FIR against their innocent relatives.The DPO took notice of the incident and suspended five policemen and also issued show cause notice to the concerned district superintendent police (DSP). DPO also deputed the SP investigation to hold inquiry into the incident.
