MELBOURNE:
Former Australian cricket umpire Darrell Hair is furious that Indian players were allowed to publicly criticise Daryl Harper without repercussions from the International Cricket Council (ICC). India captain MS Dhoni and several other unnamed players had condemned Harper’s performance in the first Test against the West Indies. “You can’t have players picking and choosing umpires,” The Age quoted Hair as saying. The ICC has said that it was “unfair criticism” and defended Harper’s record, but it has not taken any action.
