Traders’ body decries rising gas price
Federal policy harms trade industry
HYDERABAD:
The Hyderabad Chamber of Small Trade and Small Industry has lamented that the rising gas price has led to closure of 70% of the bangle industry in Hyderabad. The chamber’s president, Muhammad Farooq Shaikhani, in a statement on Thursday said the federal government’s inflationary policies and enhanced taxes have adversely harmed trade and industry during the last one year. “When the traders and industrialists approach the government’s ministers to discuss their problems, the ministers’ stringent behaviour makes them feel like the International Monetary Fund is directly ruling the country.”
