LAHORE: Former Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Dr Khairat Ibne Rasa died on Saturday at the age of 93. He had been vice chancellor of the university from 1976 to 1984. PU Vice Chancellor Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar expressed his sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Dr Khairat Ibne Rasa. In his condolence message, the VC said that the services of late Dr Khairat Ibne Rasa in higher education sector would be remembered in golden words in history. He was internationally known in the subject of Organic Chemistry. His funeral prayer will be offered on Sunday (today) after Asr prayer at 5:30pm at Punjab University Jamia Mosque.
