KARACHI:
Former defence secretary and special Australian envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Ric Smith called on the chief minister, Qaim Ali Shah, on Friday at CM House. The CM welcomed the envoy and briefed him about socio-economic conditions and the law and order situation in Sindh. He also spoke of development work in sectors such as agriculture, mining, mineral development, industry and investments, particularly for processing food such as fruit juices and seafood. Shah told Smith about post-flood rehabilitation and reconstruction being carried out across the province.
