In her plea, Maryam stated that her father was suffering from multiple ailments including hypertension as well as heart and kidney diseases and the government was only allowing meeting him once in a week.

The petitioner maintained that she came to know through media reports that Punjab government had directed inspector general of prisons and superintendent central jail to restrict visitation schedule of Nawaz only to Thursday and that too for a few blood relations not exceeding five persons.
The PML-N vice president observed that in view of serious and complicated ailments, Nawaz required frequent contact with his physician Dr Muhammad Adnan so that his medicines may be adjusted as per requirements.
She pleaded the court to pass judgment ordering government to allow meeting her father along with Dr Adnan twice a week to ensure Nawaz’s proper medical treatment.
She said her father had told her on June 27 that he had informed the jail authorities of his angina pain but no one paid heed to his concern.
The former premier is currently serving a seven-year prison term awarded to him in the Al-Azizia reference.
Earlier this week, Punjab Chief Minister Spokesperson Dr Shahbaz Gill had rejected the reports of barring provision of homemade food to Nawaz Sharif in the prison.
“No one has stopped the provision of homemade to Nawaz Sharif. He is having homemade food on a regular basis,” Gill said.
Commenting over the health of former prime minister, Gill had said that 21 cardiologists were monitoring the health of Nawaz Sharif, adding that he is the only Pakistani who is getting this service.
