Kabul bleeds

Letter July 03, 2019
Despite all the negotiations between the Afghan government and the Taliban, peace has not returned to the country yet

TURBAT: Some groups, like the Taliban, are carrying out terrorist activities under the cover of religion. The Taliban are justifying their attacks in the name of religion. They have restarted bombing Kabul in attempts to take control of the city. The group has been carrying our attacks every few days and Monday’s attack was one of the deadliest. It resulted in the loss of 16 lives. More than 105 were injured. Despite all the negotiations between the Afghan government and the Taliban, peace has not returned to the country yet. The loss of life and the trauma the citizens go through on a daily basis is unimaginable. I pray this massacre in Kabul comes to an end soon and the government is able to eradicate terrorism.
