Addressing a federal cabinet in Islamabad, he said production orders for those members of parliament involved in embezzlement and corruption related cases should not be issued, Express News reported.
PM Imran also said that in “Naya Pakistan” all prisoners should be given an equal treatment and no inmate should receive preferential treatment during confinement.
"Those involved in corruption related cases cannot be labelled as political prisoners, hence, their production orders should not be issued," the premier said, adding that such prisoners do not deserve any kind of concession.
Production orders for Asif Zardari, Saad Rafique issued
Last month, opposition parties including PPP and PML-N alleged that the prime minister had asked the National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser not to issue the production orders for incarcerated former president Asif Ali Zardari and other MNAs during the post-budget session.
However, on June 19 production orders for Zardari and PML-N's Khawaja Saad Rafique were issued.
