People are fawning over the recent trailer release of girl power film Charlie's Angels, with a brand new cast and storyline coming to fruition in the 2019 reboot. Most of us remember the 2000 hit starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu. This time around too, the upcoming project boasts of strong and diverse women.

This time around, the Angels trio are played by Twilight's Kristen Stewart, British newcomer Ella Balinska and Aladdin star Naomi Scott. They set off on a globetrotting adventure to protect the creators of a new technological advancement that could revolutionise the energy industry — but is also highly useful to the world’s criminal syndicates.

The latest reboot of the iconic 1970s detective series starring Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith marks the second time Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks does double-duty, following her feature directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2 in 2015.

That's not all. The soon-to-be-hit theme song from Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Rey is getting us all excited as well as action sequences that will surely make us cheer from our seats.

However, some fans of the previous films in the franchise — Charlie’s Angels and its sequel, 2003’s Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle — are voicing their displeasure on Twitter at an element that’s been added to the reboot: Guns.

In those two films, the Angels didn’t use guns, instead relying on their smarts and a bit of kung-fu to defeat the bad guys. Cut to 2019, the Angels are seen firing a variety of high-powered weapons in the trailer for the new film. The change hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Besides the guns, the dynamic trailer is filled with everything you’d expect from an Angels flick — luxurious locations, hi-tech weaponry, combat acrobatics and beautiful girls in action outfits.

Charlie's Angels is set to hit cinemas on November 19.
