FAISALABAD: The agriculture department has asked growers to start cultivating sunflower from mid-July to get a better and high-quality yield. A spokesman for the Agriculture Department, while talking to the media, said sunflower was a cash crop and farmers could earn a lot by cultivating it which would help resolve their financial problems. He said sunflower seed contained 40 to 50 per cent high-quality oil and 20 to 22 per cent protein. However, the growers should cultivate recommended varieties, which included Hisun-33, Hisun-38, Bemisal-205, NKS-278, Parsun-11, SF-187, G-101 and DK-4040.
