Addressing media after inaugurating an educational event at Pak-China Centre here on Tuesday, the SAPM said that people were fully aware that the current economic crisis persisted due to bad governance of the past rulers and now they would never pay heed to their advice.
Firdous maintained that Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman remained in power for over three decades and now he was missing the corridors of power.
She said that the opposition was striving for its survival as after the passage of upcoming budget, their days in politics were numbered.
The SAPM noted that the novice political leaders had given a call for agitation but it was turned down by their own parties.
She lamented that the past rulers never considered improving the standard of education instead they sent their own children abroad for studying on state expense.
She said that the friendly countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and China extended support to Pakistan to meet the economic challenges.
Lauding the education expo, Firdous said that such events help fight illiteracy, create awareness and promote the culture of learning with the main objective being the introduction of modern education in
Pakistan instead of focusing traditional methods.
She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was stressing the promotion of quality education in the country as higher education was a key to counter the tests of the modern times.
The SAPM highlighted that 20 million children in the country were out of school and the premier had proposed public-private partnership for providing educational facilities to them with a special focus on the rural areas where majority of out-of-school children live.
She noted that the prime minister wanted to transform Pakistan on the pattern of state of Madina and revolutionize educational system as Muslims had made great advances in the fields of science and technology. She stressed the need for "Ijtehad" (independent reasoning) in the field of education.
Underlining the importance of knowledge, the SAPM said that change can only be brought in a society through education and the progress and prosperity of the country majorly depended on the youth.
She laid stress on empowering the women to meet the new age challenges as they constituted 52 per cent of the population.
