Fawad Chaudhry forms five advisory boards for sci-tech research

Science and technology minister says boards will help streamline research, coordinate use of technology with end users

Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry formed on Wednesday five advisory boards to streamline research and coordinate the use of technology with end users.

The federal minister spoke out via Twitter to his over two million of his followers.

The boards formed are technology in agriculture, health and education, as well as alternative energy and future technologies.



"All research and technology will be available on web portals so if anyone wants to know what's going on his/her area of interest he/she can easily access the data and technology," he tweeted.


The boards comprise top experts from their respective fields, the minister added.



Chaudhry, after taking the reins of the science and technology ministry earlier this year, launched Pakistan's "first official" moon sighting website and a calendar showing main Islamic dates and months for the next five years based on scientific evidence.

Trolls keep Fawad Chaudhry on a tight leash



The website, pakmoonsighting.pk, was launched to avoid the moon sighting controversy that surfaces in the country every year prior to religious festivals.
