PUNJAB: The Punjab Education Department on Thursday lifted a ban on the transfer of teachers in Punjab, which had been in place for over two years.

Following the announcement, the department received thousands of transfer applications from teachers across the province.

The decision to lift the ban was taken on June 1; however, its implementation was delayed on the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Sources claim specific quotas for the transfer of teachers have been allocated to members of the provincial assembly, covering all districts of Punjab.
