Cricket team’s performance

This disappointing performance of the men in Green in the ongoing World Cup has raised many questions

HYDERABAD: The Pakistan cricket team’s defeat during the World Cup at the hands of arch-rivals, India, in a high voltage match in Old Trafford, has left the entire nation disappointed. India defeated Pakistan for the seventh time in the World Cup.

This match also marked the third defeat of the Green Shirts in the tournament. Before this, they lost their first match to West Indies, and then to Australia. Out of the four matches it has played, Pakistan has won only one of them, whereas the match against Sri Lanka was abandoned due to rain. Both teams were awarded one point each.

This disappointing performance of the men in Green in the ongoing World Cup has raised many questions. I believe that, along with the team management, senior players, including Shoaib Malik and Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, must also share the blame. Due to this poor performance, Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semi-final are very low now. Our team still has to play against one of the World Cup favourites, New Zealand. If our team wants to reach the semi-final, they will have to win all the remaining matches.
