Work on one of long-delayed projects, Park Enclave I, has started, officials said.
Park Enclave had become yet another stuck up project of CDA. However under the instructions of the government, stalled sectors have been revived and as a first step development activity has commenced at Park Enclave I, they said.
Launched in 2010, citizens had deposited billions of rupees in this project but it could not be completed, while development work had also stopped three years ago.
On Monday, CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed visited the ground breaking of a bridge at Park Enclave I. Being constructed at a cost of Rs86 million the tender has been awarded at a much lower cost that Rs130 million quoted earlier. The chairman directed the CDA staff and contractor to ensure quality work and timely completion.
He also informed that this is merely first of the many developmental projects that are in pipeline and several have been advertised while tenders for more will be issued in coming days.
Gradually and steadily the pace of development work in the city will pick up, Ahmed said while inspecting the site.
