MUZADDARABAD: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Masood Khan inaugurated on Saturday a state-of-the-art cancer hospital in Rawalakot's Bhek village.

Sardar Latif Memorial Tele-Medicines Cancer Institute is the first cancer hospital with modern medical facilities established by the private sector in the valley.

"Three big hospitals will soon be established in three divisions of AJK to provide modern medical facilities to the people," the president said while addressing the inauguration ceremony.

Sardar Masood said the hospitals will be established in Muzaffarabad, Mirpur and Poonch divisions.

The AJK president regretted that a "luxurious lifestyle" and environmental pollution had fast spread diseases such as cancer, cardiac problems, diabetes, and stomach and liver diseases.

The president described the establishment of cancer hospital by Dr Naeem Latif in Bhek village a milestone, and paid tributes to him for his efforts and services to mankind.

He also assured that the government would extend full cooperation to make the hospital a success, and will take necessary steps for the widening of road linking hospital with Rawalakot city, and uninterrupted water and power supply to the hospital.
