Central police officials say that the fort is now being used by police after it was vacated by Frontier Corps.
A Station House Officer and other staff will be appointed at the police station next week.
"In the first phase police officers will be hired after which other police stations will also be established," an official was quoted as saying.
Earlier, police stations were set up in Khyber and Bajaur districts.
Police have begun performing duties in all seven tribal districts and the government is taking steps to bring the entire region into the mainstream.
Before the merger of FATA with the province, the region was ruled under the Frontier Crimes Regulation, and law and order was maintained by the Khasadar force, which, along with Levies, was merged into K-P police earlier this year.
