RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafique has taken strict notice of delay in cleanliness of 11 big rain drains of the city including Nullah Leh. In this regard the MNA has delivered a complaint letter to the deputy commissioner.

The district authorities are supposed to ensure clearance of the drains before the start of pre-monsoon season. The letter makes mention of the internal strife between Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RMWC) and Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) officials over the clearance of Nullah Leh and all big drains and warns that the work should be completed before the pre-monsoon season arriving on June 15.

The letter states that the district authorities have failed to clear the drains while there is an imminent risk of floods caused by pre-monsoon rains. If the flood occurs, RWMC will be held responsible, the letter warned.
