Data Darbar blast: families of martyred cops get compensation cheques

At least 12 people including four policemen were martyred in the attack last month

At least eleven people, including four policemen, were martyred in suicide attack at Dara Darbar Lahore last month.

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar presented on Thursday compensation cheques worth Rs10 million each to the families of martyred police officials who lost their lives in a terror attack at Data Darbar, Lahore last month.

The heirs of police officials met the chief minister at his office on Thursday, according to a statement released by the provincial government.

At least 12 people, including four policemen were martyred in the shrine attack on May 8.

“Residences and plots will also be given to the families of police martyrs and the heirs will receive full salary till the retirement of the martyred officials”, the CM was quoted as saying, adding that the children of the victims will also be provided free healthcare and educational facilities.

CM Buzdar said the police officials sacrificed their lives for the motherland and every possible effort will be made by the government to facilitate their families.
