The Mumbai Police closed the sexual misconduct case against actor Nana Patekar which was filed by Tansuhree Dutta due to lack of evidence.

The police filed a 'B Summary' report in the case, which is submitted when sufficient evidence in support of the complaint is not found and are therefore unable to continue the investigation, Times of India reported.

Reacting to the Kohram stars clean chit, Tanushree, who currently lives in the US, issued a statement. The actor labelled her former co-star and the Mumbai Police as 'corrupt'.

"A corrupt police force and legal system giving a clean chit to an even more corrupt person Nana who has been accused even in the past of bullying, intimidation and harassment by several women in the film Industry."

However advocate for Nana, Aniket Nikam, had something different to say, "The entire allegations against my client were false from the inception. My client is innocent and justice will be served."

Tanushree had accused Nana of sexual harassment on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss in 2009 while shooting for a dance number. Earlier, in May, reports of the actor getting a clean chit in the case were doing the rounds as the police could not furnish evidence against him. However, Tanushree had claimed back then that the reports were false.

She had accused his PR team of spreading false news and clarified that the investigation was still underway. The latest claims by the police means that they could not produce evidence against the Welcome actor and have closed the case.

However, Tanushree can fill a protest report if she is unhappy with the proceedings.

The actor is the one who sparked off the #MeToo movement in Bollywood. After the accusations, many women were seen calling out their sexual abusers on the social media. Prominent names like Sajid Khan, Alok Nath, Subhash Ghai, Anu Malik and Rajat Kapoor made headlines for the same.
