Manchester United make last-minute move to sign Griezmann

The Red Devils are preparing an offer of £95 million for the Frenchman

Manchester United have made an eleventh-hour bid to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, despite a statement by the club’s chief that the Frenchman will be joining Barcelona.

However, United hope to hijack the long-awaited transfer and bring Griezzman to Old Trafford claims The Sun.

Earlier, Atleti chief Miguel Angel Gil Marin revealed to Movistar: “It’s crystal clear where he is going to play, I’ve known since March. At Barcelona.”



Moreover, the French forward announced last month that he would be leaving the club amid reports that the Frenchman will join Barcelona.

United want to take advantage of the delay in an official announcement to approach Atletico with an offer of £95 million ($120m).

However, Manchester United’s inability to offer Champions League football could be a potential deal-breaker.
