Rs190b apportioned for Ministry of Water Resources

Amount of Rs120bn have been reserved for the ongoing hydel power projects and Rs697m for new projects

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has allocated Rs190 billion for the Ministry of Water Resources in the budget for fiscal year 2019-20.

The government has allotted Rs54.68bn for Dasu Hydel Power Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kohistan district, while Rs34bn have been kept for Neelum-Jehlum Hydropower Project. Rs15bn have been specified for Mohmand dam and Rs16bn for Diamer-Bhasha dam.

In addition, Rs34.29bn have been allocated for Tarbela 4th Extension and Rs4.34bn for Warsak Hydroelectric Power Station-II. Rs5.5b have been apportioned for upgradation of Mangla Power Station and Rs6bn for Kachhi Canal Project.

Amount of Rs120bn have been reserved for the ongoing hydel power projects and Rs697m for new projects. Rs61b have been kept for the continuing water resources schemes, while for new developments Rs8.19.bn have been reserved.
