KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has expressed its dissatisfaction with the officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over not filing reference following its inquiry regarding illegal appointments in the small industries department.

"Either file the reference till August 13 or close the investigation," ordered on Monday the two-member bench comprising Justice KK Agha and Justice Omar Sial. Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM) leader Rauf Siddiqui and other suspects named in the case appeared before the court.

"The investigations are underway since the past two years. People have been making rounds of the courts," remarked the court.

"If the same situation persists, the court may have to summon NAB director-general ," warned the bench.

According to NAB, Rauf Siddiqui and several others are accused of illegal appointment. The NAB prosecutor maintains that the matter has been sent to the headquarters to file reference against Rauf Siddiqui and others.
