Stray dogs

Letter June 11, 2019
The government should make efforts to rehabilitate stray dogs

KARACHI: I am a resident of Block 2 Clifton, Karachi. The residents of this locality are facing the problem of stray dogs. Packs of stray dogs roam around on the streets as well as the main roads. They attack passers-by. They run after motorcyclists and motorists, causing accidents. They also bark the nights away, and people are unable to sleep due to this. I urge the authorities concerned to look into the matter at the earliest. I am not in favour of culling dogs. The government should make efforts to rehabilitate stray dogs. They also need to vaccinate the stray dogs to curb the spread of rabies as cases of dog-bites are increasing rapidly and effective measures need to be taken to handle this issue.
