PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) on Sunday launched a province-wide protest against inflation in the country.

Addressing party workers in Charsadda, ANP Central President Asfandyar Wali Khan said that there was a need to control prices of essential commodities. He stressed the need for providing relief to the public besides improving infrastructure in the tribal districts.

The ANP chief added that hike in prices of utilities and imposition of additional taxes would affect everyone, hence, the ANP had to raise its voice for the people.

He pointed out that such protests were being held in all district headquarters of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). Wali’s son and ANP Provincial President Aimal addressed a protest demonstration in Swabi, followed by another protest rally in the Mohmand tribal district.
