Head of Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) and renowned Neuro Surgeon Dr Khalid Mahmood has said the development of medical science and modern technology has made it possible to provide treatment of brain tumours without opening of the head of a patient.

He said the modern methods cause less pain and also minimise the time of treatment. Expressing his views on the World Brain Tumor Day, Dr Mahmud said luckily modern treatment for the patients has already been started at the PINS where the latest MRI machine was available to provide best medical facilities to the patients.

He said citizens should adopt a simple lifestyle, do exercise, take proper sleep and avoid mental pressure to save themselves from brain diseases. He added that every tumour was not dangerous and most of them were curable or could be reduced to a level that was not a threat to the life of the patient.

Dr Mahmud said the treatment of brain tumours was available at all the main hospitals of Punjab.
