Health ministry forms committee for PIMS

Advisor to the Prime minister on Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza will be the chairman of committee

ISLAMABAD: The Health Ministry has formed an 11-member committee for improvement of infrastructure, service delivery and human resource management in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) while a notification in this regard has also been issued.

Advisor to the Prime minister on Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza would be the chairman of committee while his advisor Tahir Javed, has also been made part of the committee.

The other members include health secretary, joint secretary health and Health Planning Commission chief, Pims Head Dr Amjad, General Medicine Department Head Dr Naveed Niazi, Gynecology Department Head Dr Syeda Batool, Pediatric Surgery Head Dr Nadeem Akhtar and Psychiatry Head Rizwan Taj.

The committee will conduct monthly inspection of affairs mentioned in its TORs while it would prepare recommendations regarding required improvements in different departments.
