An appeal asking for MNA Ali Wazir's physical remand was rejected on Tuesday and he was sent to Peshawar jail on judicial remand, Express News reported.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) presented Wazir in Bannu’s anti-terrorism court where it appealed for the physical remand of the MNA. The special duty magistrate dismissing the CTD’s appeal, ordered that Wazir should be transferred to Peshawar jail.

Owing to the absence of the judge, who was on leave due to Eid in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Wazir was presented before the special duty magistrate.

Ali Wazir remanded in CTD custody for 8 days

Wazir was arrested following a clash between Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) supporters and army troops in North Waziristan

Three people were killed with 15 others, including soldiers sustaining injuries in crossfire in the Boyya area at the Kharqamar checkpoint.

According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the group was led by Mohsin Dawar and Wazir.

“A group led by Mohsin Javed [Dawar] and Ali Wazir assaulted Kharqamar check post, Boyya, North Waziristan tribal district…they wanted to exert pressure for the release of suspected terrorists’ facilitator…,” it said.
