Spiritual healer gunned down

Residents thrashed the suspects and also damaged their vehicle

LAHORE: A spiritual healer was killed by the relatives of a woman over a dispute in Green Town, late Sunday night. Reportedly, a couple had sought the help of Zafar Shah for reconciliation.

Meanwhile, the woman’s relatives attacked the spiritual healer with knives. As a result, Shah and two others sustained critical injuries. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where they pronounced Shah dead.

After receiving information of the incident, residents assembled at the scene and managed to subdue the suspects. Residents thrashed the suspects and also damaged their vehicle.

SP Sadar Ehsan Saifullah and a heavy contingent of police reached the scene and managed to get the situation under control. Police registered an FIR. Officials said that they are currently investigating the matter further. Separately, a man identified as Babar shot and killed his father-in-law in Factory Area after he failed to convince his estranged wife to return home.

Reportedly, the accused’s wife was living at her parent’s house after a fight with her husband. On the day of the incident, Babar approached his in-laws in order to convince his wife to return. However, he had a heated exchange with his father-in-law. As a result, Babar got infuriated and shot at his father-in-low, killing him on the spot.
