Railways offers 50% discount on fares for Eid

First special Eid train left Karachi for Peshawar at 10:45am on Sunday

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Railways (PR) is making all-out efforts to facilitate passengers on Eid while five special trains are being operated for this purpose, a spokesperson said on Sunday.

He said a 50% reduction in fares had been offered on all trains and classes in advance reservation for the first day of Eid.

He said the schedule for the trains was announced by the PR Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Aftab Akbar on the directives of Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid.

The first special Eid train left Karachi for Peshawar at 10:45am on Sunday and the second departed from Quetta for Rawalpindi at 11:30am.

The third train will leave Karachi Cantt Station on June 3 at 11:00am for Lahore. The fourth train will depart from Rawalpindi for Quetta on June 8.

He said the fifth special train would depart on June 8 from Lahore Railway Station at 6pm for Karachi Cantt.

He added that the tickets for the special trains could be obtained through the online reservation facility or at reservation offices of the Railways.
